Hampton Court Flower Show TV

The video camera was invaluable at Hampton Court Flower Show, to capture the many water gardens and features. The garden designs made the most of the extra space available at Hampton by opening all sides of the garden, so we visitors could explore the different views.

Having learnt our lesson at Chelsea, we allowed plenty of time for the floral marquees at the Hampton flower show. Where Eggy's photography captures the close-up perfection of the plants, this TV footage shows the extent of the displays and the grandeur of the marquees.

Woman’s Sanctuary Garden... mediaplayer | quicktimeWed 10th Nov 2004 (17 sec / 1144 kb): Like its name, the Woman’s Sanctuary was a peaceful space, a many-roomed veranda edged with pink, purple and yellow flower beds. Rattan and wooden furniture was placed for best view of the garden - relaxing and stylish too.
15 Degrees Show Garden... mediaplayer | quicktimeWed 10th Nov 2004 (13 sec / 874 kb): Fifteen Degrees was a circular garden, tilted and sloping down to a sunken patio, with a bubbling hot tub at the centre. Designers from Leeds Met Uni used local rough Yorkshire stone for the outside wall, and flowers beds, tall trees and bamboo blinds.

The garden has lots of features to appeal to dogs, including beneficial plants, topiary hedges and lots of water. The pergola was a gardener-only space.

Hideaway Small Garden... mediaplayer | quicktimeWed 10th Nov 2004 (11 sec / 720 kb): This Small Garden entry by Brighton & Hove City College raised a base of stones around a growing tree fern sculpture. Big leaf ferns and other foliage gave the garden a tropical feel.
Enchanted Tower Garden... mediaplayer | quicktimeWed 10th Nov 2004 (16 sec / 1057 kb): The Enchanted Tower Garden, "... Life is but a Dream", was a magical den of sculptures and plants inside crumbling castle walls. Very fairytale, unimaginable that it had been there only a few days.

A stream curved around a jetty, a hammock was slung by the summer-house, and summer flowers blossomed in the hedges. Yum!

A wooden bench zigzagged diagonally towards a glassy pane, which dropped down to make a table - for cocktails, of course.
