Raspberry Ice Rose

One of my newest roses to flower, snug and safe at the back of the Willow tree garden, is the lovely cluster flowered floribunda Raspberry Ice. I just love it!

I've known about this rose for quite some time, having seen mass plantings of it in public rose gardens I've visited. When choosng new roses I've tended to concentrate on David Austin English roses. Raspberry Ice was in a bare root rose sale at the supermarket. It was so cheap that at once I considered it my duty to rescue and plant it.

 A scrumptious rose!
Raspberry Ice

Now I've had an idea for a yummy-food-themed rose garden - one where all the rose names are as scrumption as Raspberry Ice. Should be fun! I'm sure there's a Strawberry Ice, and a Hot Chocolate...

This rose, white with red edges, is properly known as Tabris, and is bred by Kordes. Indeed, I can't find the name Raspberry Ice in my big rose book.
