Red Tulips

Specialist growers of tulips would not be impressed with my motley collection of these handsome spring flowering bulbs. I have tried, but unless I buy in replacements each year the Moosey garden tulips seem to just disappear.

There are some exceptions, namely these brilliant coloured red ones. Lone survivors have popped up in many garden areas. However, a solo tulip, no matter how brilliantly coloured, looks rather sad and silly!

I have tried to do the right things. In my keen early years I tried lifting all bulbs after the greenery had died down. Then I bought in new bulbs each autumn - the bulb farm made me feel most welcome! Finally I have given up - though those hybrids with peony-like flowers look interesting...
