Red Dahlias

There are many red dahlias in the Island Bed. They put on a great show in summer, contrasting with the frothy white Gypsophila and the feathery Toe Toe plumes.

 The rose on the left is Sally Holmes.

I leave the dahlia tubers in the ground over winter, and never ever remember to stake the plants when they are growing in late spring.

 The island bed is full of these red dahlias.
