Small Red Flax

Middle Border's paths are edged with stones in an attempt to impose order. This is an early photograph, in which the path is visible.

 This is the reddest small flax in the garden.

There has been significant growth since, and the bare earth is now filled with self-seeding Cynoglossus (a tallish blue flowering annual) and pansies.

The red flax continues to be much admired and photographed.
