Pond Garden Bench

A comfortable wooden garden bench sits at the beginning of my new pond-side path. I can sit here and gaze at my lovely Pond Garden, then turn my head to the ram paddock behind me and make furtive garden expansion plans...

At the back of the pond.
Pond Garden Bench

The Pond Paddock beyond the pond gives inspiring views all year round. Winter shows off the sculptural flaxes, spring has the fluff of flowering cherries and rhododendrons, summer brings warmth and roses, and autumn is full of brilliant leaf colour. Sitting on the garden bench I will be able to see all these features reflected in the pond water. Very artistic!

New plants, new path, new seat position.
The Back of the Pond

The garden bench is a very normal kitset wooden one - maybe even a bit boring. But remember - it's not what the bench looks like from the garden - it's what the garden looks like from the bench!

Serious Footnote

Oops. One gardening day in late 2009 I asked Non-Gardening Partner if he would carry the old garden bench from the pond over to the Hen House Garden.

Wooden Bench :
Here is the wooden garden bench in its new garden position.

I explained that I wanted the very old one. The very, very old one which I hardly ever sat on. I'm sure I described it and its location properly. I knew what I meant!

Oops. NGP arrived some minutes later (huffing and puffing) with my beautiful pond-side wooden bench balanced on the wheelbarrow. I couldn't tell him to take it back. So the wooden garden bench now lives by the water race. You can check it out if you like!
