Barrel Water Bridge

This is what the area by the car bridge used to look like, before it was swallowed up by the great Moosey Digging and Planting Machine. You can see a young version of the Willow Tree in the distance.

A Messy Garden!

There was quite a mess to clean up when this photograph was taken (like the empty drums) and a lot of rubbish from the gum trees was still buried in the grass. There were also patches of daffodils buried in the long grass. I was in my naturalising of hosts of golden daffodils phase - but I used modern hybrids with tall, floppy stems! Aargh!

Here is another archive photograph of the edge of Stumpy Lawn, as seen from the other side of the water race. Originally I wanted this area to stay green and grassy.

Now there is a newly planted rhododendron garden, filled with bargain plants who have not yet flowered. I'm waiting for next spring!

Rhododendron Garden Update - 2005

Yes! I may finally have got it right - as far as the location of my rhododendrons goes, that is. They seem extremely happy, and their first season flowers are amazing. In fact this whole area is now well planted, and has a family-inspired nickname - the Eggy Garden - nearly three years old.
