Calendula Flower

The Willow Tree Garden has a sunny spot where I grow annual flowering Calendulas. Each year they produce seedlings for the following summer - and provide colour for many months, even in winter.

These great annuals grow around one of the old tree stumps.
Annual Calendula

I seem to have grown some rather nice shades of Calendula, which I should encourage - like this soft lemon yellow. I must remember to collect its seeds for the Moosey Nursery next spring. My other seed grown Calendulas have been a rather bilious shade of orange. I was tempted by the colour description 'tangerine' and the adjective 'subtle' on the seed packet - they are definitely neither!
