PPIs for 2026
I have high hopes for 2026. Or, to be more specific, for me in 2026 as a gardener. I have a refreshed vision and brand new plans. They are NOT New Years' Resolutions. They are New Year's Projections, Processes, and Implementations. Sound scary? Not a bit. Affectionately known as PPIs.
In the past my New Year's Resolutions have been a bit trivial, a bit of a giggle. For example, in 2025 I was going to brush my hair every day. Very mundane, and so sensible that it shouldn't have needed to be written down.
A better gardener?
And in how many Januaries have I resolved to be a 'better gardener'? Better than what? Does 'better' mean wiser, more thoughtful? A less random, less flibberty gibbety gardener? I can safely say I will be a more mature gardener in 2026. Of course - I will be one year older. As will be my garden. This is what happens. Better is meaningless.

Head Gardener, 2026
My New Year's Projections, Processes, and Implementations for 2026 have a three-pronged theme (just like a gardening fork, hee hee) : to notice garden growth, embrace it, and (if needed) do something about it.
Notice garden growth, embrace it, and (if needed) do something about it...- Moosey words of wisdom.
Rewarding myself by buying new roses, or banning myself from the rose nursery for being naughty are control mechanisms which are so 'last year'. My success and/or failure does not need to be measured. My garden doesn't deserve these competitive attitudes. It's a simple, co-operative partnership between nature and woman, with hugs galore.
P.S. The word 'growth' will often be a synonym for 'mess'. But the word 'embrace' implies having a loving attitude towards such. Right! That's 2026 sorted. Easy peasy.
