Phyllis Bide Rose

The top rose arch has two Phyllis Bide roses growing either side. After a slow start they are finally fluffing themselves out and reaching together, as all well behaved roses on archways should.

 A very pretty rose.
Phyllis Bide Roses on the Archway

Phyllis Bide is a fluffy looking rose when in flower - small blooms of pastel shades of white pink and peach cover it in summer.

You can see in other archive photographs that the original rose planted here was rather different - it was a mad scrambling rambler which I pruned at the wrong time of year, causing the most spectacular die-back in the history of the Moosey garden.
