The roses are blooming...

It's November, and suddenly there are roses blooming everywhere throughout the garden. Roses are wonderful. Just so beautiful.

I shouldn't spoil it by mentioning the weeds, but I think I have to. Last week I thought I was - ahem - getting ahead of them. This is not the case.

 Ready to pick.

Keeping calm...

So today I've already worked for four hours, keeping calm (weed-wise), telling myself I can get the main offenders pulled out. One cannot enjoy the roses starting to bloom when there are carpets of weeds underneath.

Have weeded the front curved garden (where Mary and Othello roses are looking amazing), having a bit of trouble not treading on any of the self-seeders (Cornflowers and Nigella).

Then I moved onto the border garden edging the driveway, which had lots of annual grasses - easy to pull out. I collected all the forget-me-nots, chopped them up, and mixed them with horse manure to spread on the Hump Garden.

The plan is now to go down the road to vote (green green), then buy some food for the evening meal. Then get back to it. I hope I will finish the day feeling good again about myself as a gardener.

Much later...

I went back to weeding in the Hump Garden, and now I feel really good. Counting up, I actually managed eight hours in total. Wow! Most of it sitting own, so I shouldn't be too tired. Eight hours! Eight hours is massive for me.
