Spring Flowering Shrubs

Forums Newsletter Share

The Jelly-Bean Garden doesn't have any feature spring blossom trees, but there are many spring flowering shrubs to enjoy. The Choisya shrub blooms in mid-spring, and a neighbouring Clematis Montana is slowly but surely creeping along the fence-line...

The red flax looks wonderful with all those flowery spring things!

A lemon Canary Bird rose flowers at the same time. All this pastel fluffiness finds the perfect foil in a pink-toned Jester Phormium (a New Zealand flax) growing near the edge of the house lawn.

And Later in Summer...

Later in summer there'll be an explosion of yellow from the Senecio daisy bush and the Hypericum, both of which lean on the fence. And hopefully roses will add some pinks and reds to the colour scheme.
