It's been a while...

 For the 10th July.
Forget-Me-Nots

Yeay! Yippee! What a wonderful afternoon! I've just spent three hours in the garden working by the water where the old willow stump was cut down. I've cleaned up more mess and dug out a possible path route along the water, with a makeshift stone edge. Might have to chop out some Gunnera roots that are 'pointing' the wrong way.

Friday 10th July

Am so happy. It's been a while! Am inside, clean socks, warming up my hands on a hot cup of tea. Yes. I am very happy. And the very first blue forget-me-not flowers have made a timely arrival. Beautiful.

Saturday 11th July

Yeay! We've has two sunny afternoons in a row. Today I've been swimming, had coffee with my friends, bought a new electric blanket for the bed in the cottage, and now - into the garden I go.

Non-Gardening Partner is organised (hopefully) to collect some horse manure for the rhododendrons etc. in the Stumpy Garden. I'm off to continue clearing along the water.

Only two hours later...

Dear Garden, I am soooooo sorry. As soon as the weak winter sun slipped down behind the shelter hedge my day was done. I tried taking a quick break, sitting on one of your benches with my afternoon tea, wearing my puffer jacket. But my hands were just too cold.

However, I did wheel three barrow loads of dead Phormium leaves etc. to the bonfire, plant the very last daffodil bulbs (so I would see their faces), weeded along the water's edge, and dug out more of the rotted wood underneath the willow stump.

Yours sincerely, still shivering slightly,
Moosey.

NGP is back, feeling very proud. He's brought me ten bags of horse manure and a Whittakers chocolate bar. I've still got my puffer jacket, so he's taken the hint and is about to light the log-burner.. Brr....
