This is the new garden at the driveway-end of the water race. The gum trees on the boundary fence are quite close, so I am wondering how dry it will get in here. In homage to my lovely relative I affectionately call it the Eggy Garden. ![]() Garden in the Making - Summer 2004 My Birthday GardenI used birthday money from the Moosey London Son to buy all the plants that are in here. He does this every year - what a lovely chap! I've added a few filler shrubs and tussock grasses. Ha! In a fit of extreme organisation I have taken another photograph of the enlarged garden almost one year on. This is a very wide shot, showing the hybrid flaxes like Jester, and my motley collection of spare annuals (mainly raucous pink Lavateras) and roses. ![]() The Eggy Garden - Summer 2005 The rhododendrons in the Eggy Garden did well this spring, too. I have enjoyed some dreamy summer weeding sessions in this garden - it's very sheltered, dappled with shade in mid-summer, and has water running nearby. Ambience plus! ![]() The Eggy Garden - Summer 2006 The Future of the Eggy Garden?I predict that soon this garden will have so much to say for itself that it will have to have its own special section. Perhaps a ribbon-cutting ceremony - an elegant copper plaque would also be nice...
