Waiting for the sun...
Thursday is my day of going nowhere except into my garden. But oh boy! A frost overnight, one of those mornings where one wraps ones hands around a hot cup of tea to warm them up. And decides to stay inside a bit longer.

So I've been writing music arrangements, waiting for the sun to start working. The dogs (being furry, they don't notice the cold) and me (AKA I, in my uber-puffy puffer jacket) have walked around the driveway and looked at the white lawns. Hmm. Back inside for another hot drink.

Gunnera trimmed
Regarding the sun...
The sun is awfully low in the sky - of course it is, being only two weeks until the winter solstice. OK. Now I remember. The sun doesn't crank up things outside until near midday. Lots of time for morning coffee at a cafe, hee hee.
Much later...
Finally went into the garden early afternoon and worked hard for over three hours. The bonfire is gurgling, as is the log-burner inside. I've been clearing by the water race from Willow Bridge to the willow stump. This (the stump) has gone very wonky, with much of the main stump completely rotted, ready for dismantling, you might say. Will leave that to Non-gardening Partner. I've been slicing down Carexes, I've deconstructed a Phormium which was too old, managing to pull out all its roots, and I've trimmed a lot of Gunnera.
Now for the best reward ever - a quick shower, clean clothes, and warm dry socks. Yeay! My feet will be soooooo happy!
Friday 12th June
Another excellent day - music in the morning, garden in the afternoon. Three hours chopping down and processing the Gunnera by Willow Bridge, slicing down more Carexes, then burning most of my mess. I have been very good.
