My 2026 Birthday week...
It's my 2026 birthday week. Yeay for me! It's all about me? Well, mostly. Me and my garden, with my cats and my dogs, and my garden plans and dreams. Oh joy! Tomorrow I will officially be one year older, possibly wiser, definitely sillier. Don't think I've started repeating myself in conversation yet...

My Birthday 2026
Am loving spring - the bigger Prunus trees are now starting to blossom, and the daffodils in pots by the house are flowering. Simply beautiful. Aha! I'm sure I've said all this before!
Cats...
Earlier today while taking spring photographs I 'broke up' a potential fight between the brother Fred tabby cats. They were stuck on Middle Bridge, neither prepared to back off or give way, the sideways alternative (to leap into the water) not appealing. So I did that very modern, rude thing - I watched and took photographs of them. Oops.

Cats on the Bridge
Today so far I have done some birthday reading, some birthday laundry, and been to a birthday singing rehearsal. No gardening, sorry.

Flowers from My Garden
Tuesday 8th September
Yippee! It's my actual birthday day. I've sown my spring seeds in the glasshouse - Cornflowers, Cosmos, Marigolds, Salvias, and Lettuces. I've been swimming and have visited my lovely family. Have come home to a slow cook slowly cooking (as they do) and smelling delicious. Am feeling very happy.
Wednesday 9th September
Had a morning birthday bonfire. Trimmed two of the big Miscanthus grasses - just one to go - and some Hydrangeas. Also tipped a load of rose prunings on. Things burnt rather fitfully, though.
Then I went out to three different music rehearsals (my folk singing trio, my Jazz choir, and a Monteverdi 4 part Mass). In between times I ate a lot of cake, hee hee. Had heaps of fun with my friends.
