Hello February!

Blue Agapanthus
My goodness, it's February already. My goodness indeed. All my lovely musical groups start up again this week. I am enjoying my relationship with my wonderful garden, spending quality time in it with my dogs.
My two stray cats...
Am enjoying feeding my two stray cats (Speckles, a bit random, and Foxie, a scaredy cat who slinks onto the verandah every night at dusk). I worry a bit when they don't arrive. Silly.
Monday February 2nd
Started today by digging up some incredibly dark purple potatoes, and harvesting the first tomatoes, which I weeded roughly alongside. Then moved into the water race. Lovely.
Yesterday I took some visitors around the garden - naturally it was very obvious which areas needed attention. Oops. When they left I instantly weeded and trimmed the edge of the garden by the brick courtyard. Today I lightly weed-sprayed the bricks to discourage the invasive Euphorbias. Just a few more bricks need levelling (subsidence caused by rotting tree roots underneath).

Species Orange Daylily
I like the Agapanthus and the ferns surrounding the courtyard. And the swathes of species daylilies nearby. A species swathe in a big garden - brilliant for filling the space, and creating the illusion of size under control, hee hee.
Tuesday 3rd February
It's been raining again. Woo hoo! Wonderful for the garden. How many times have I said that so far in 2026? So yesterday, before the rain, I should have planted those roses and dahlias by the pergola, right? Nods wisely.
Wednesday 4th February
The rain (we had 30mm) has stopped. My garden is happy, wet and cold. I am happy, dry, and warm. I am off swimming.
