The garden is faster!
Have had a revelation. Of course in November I feel slower. But it's an illusion. I'm not slower, the garden is faster! More light, more growth, more flowers, more weeds, more work, and so on. Phew! Now I feel much better.
Have spent the last days being busy and extremely happy getting nowhere, thoroughly enjoying every moment. There's so much colour, and the roses are blooming beautifully. The fresh green ferns are all back, the borders (if I squint at them) look stunning.
It's time...
It's time to do a partial dig out of the Alkanet, so it will resprout, reflower, and provide bee food in autumn. It's definitely time to clean up the annual forget-me-nots - at least those which are spilling over the edges of borders onto the lawns etc.

New Hostas
Yesterday I cleared them from the border edge where my new Hostas are growing. Much better! And I worked my way around the edge of the Jelly Bean Border as far as the big gum tree, trimming grass, pulling out and chopping up forget-me-nots for mulch.

New Iris
Early this morning...
Early this morning, full of optimism, I went out with my camera. Oops. Turned around, went straight back into the house to put on my shorts and gardening shirt. Then I gardened for SEVEN HOURS. There was so much that I saw needed doing. So the best thing was to do it, rather than take photographs, right? Hee hee. Except I did both.
Into the Hump Garden...
I went into the Hump Garden, cleared the main path, weeded some of the border edges, dug out Campion that had finished flowering, and spread out chopped up forget-me-nots.
Then I trimmed right along the lawn edge. And how about this - I cleaned up all my mess. Six barrow loads dumped by the fence-line. Yeay for me!
But oh boy - my fingers feel well worn. Typing these sentences is - ahem - interesting!
