Ramble on...
Rambling Rector is rambling away on the boundary fence in full flower. What a sweet rose he is. So strong. So resilient (his only watering comes from rain). Dare I say he is manly?

Rambling Rector Roses
So I've just spent three hours digging out Alkanet from the Allotment Garden, starting underneath him (ouch). I'm sure he's perfuming the air. Good stuff, Rambling Rector. May your rambling days never end. Set your horizons far in the distance. Reach out (cover up next door's mess, if you like).

Rambling Rector Roses
Have left the most difficult bit for last - I have to wriggle underneath the two large Crepuscule roses like a gardening commando.

Bendy Lupin
Mustn't get stuck...
I can do this (I will prune some of the lower rose branches). It's dusty work, and I mustn't get stuck. Last time I weeded in here was interesting - and slightly alarming. Help! Got in a bit of a tangle.
Two hours later...
Got as far as the Rugosa hedge, had to dig out a lot of creepy grass which was running into my garden from next-door. Sliced through Alkanet and pulled out old Campion plants.
Feeling well-worn but very happy, I've cleaned myself up and am about to listen to the Ashes cricket from Perth Australia.

Red Fred
Poor Fred...
House cat Red Fred had to go to the vet today. Most likely a flea allergy has caused his belly to go bald. We had flea-treated him some weeks ago, but the vet still found one 'sluggish' live flea on his back. Poor Fred!
Speckles...
Cats. Humph. Guess what? After being a no-show for six nights, Speckles has finally turned up for his food. But he has totally rewilded himself, swiping at my hands with his paw when I put down his food bowl. Bad manners. Rude cat.
