Semi-snoozing...
No gardening for a few days - have been feeling a bit under the weather, semi-snoozing (and even sleeping) in the daytimes. Suspect some vague anti-gardening virus. Luckily short-lived, and I did manage to re-energise myself for my Jazz choir's sparkling concert on Friday night. So much fun, such good music.
Saturday was another slow, semi-snoozy day. Today is Sunday and I think I'm feeling better. Put it this way, I've been outside gardening for five hours, and not a hint of a sulk or a 'feeling-sorry-for-myself' thought. Much brighter - almost as bright as these rose pictures!

Gunnera in the Water Race
Have been weeding around Willow Bridge. Stood in the water race for ages pulling out grasses and trimming Carexes. Said hello to William Lobb (he's a moss rose, his picture is up there). Successfully avoided the scratchy Gunnera. Wondered about the giant patch of Iris confusa - should I trim them all down to the ground? Went upstream to slice out more grasses and think. Found some sweet little Hostas by the eater's edge. Cute!
A successful day...
Then I went one step further. Started the bonfire, scooped up dry mess, scooped up the greener mess from the water race, mixed it all up and burnt it. A most successful day.

Texel Lambs
P.S. We have four late lambs, thanks to a neighbourly visit from a perky fence-jumping Texel ram. Two boys, two girls, all very chunky.
