Regarding Speckles...
Speckles my stray cat has now been AWOL for five nights in a row. The small jar of cat milk I keep for him in the cottage is fast turning into cheese. Where have you gone, my silly, hissy, lovely speckly cat? Please come home. This is your home, right?

Hello Speckles
I've written him a poem - my first attempt at a Haiku, not a particularly good one, but hey! It might inspire him to return.
Haiku for Speckles
My stray cat has gone
His milk turns to yellow cheese
Speckles please come home
When we get back from morning coffee with friends I will (takes a deep breath) return into the depths of the Jelly Bean Border. I will do my very best to finish scooping out the mess.

Periwinkle Flowers
I will make sure I dig out all the Periwinkle. I will plant my new Pittosporums in here.
Three hours later...
Stopped by the wind, which started to roar through the garden, so no more mess could be dumped on the bonfire. I've done pretty well, though, and I'm happy to stop. Three barrow loads left in there, plus one in the wheelbarrow which is parked up. If the wind dies down I'll burn everything.
Next day...
It didn't. And this morning it's raining, so no bonfire possible. I've just been to pick up three more recycled Camellias, which I've dumped in a large water barrel. They'll fill up the Septic Tank Garden gaps rather nicely.

The Septic Tank Garden Replanted
And guess what? All my tools are snug in their cat bag, on my back porch, out of the weather.
Speckles is back!
An update on Speckles : He came last night for his dinner! Yeay! But he didn't seem to be overly hungry. Hmm... He is double dipping? Random cat. Maybe the haiku did the trick. I whispered it to him as he lapped noisily at his milk.
