Hello wind...
Hello, daffodils. And hello wind. You are in a fierce rush today. Settle down! How about takin it easy, breezy? Take a deep breath and exhale slowly? Cap on tightly, head down, I've been barrowing mulch over from the far fence line to the Septic Tank Garden. Back and forth. The good and the not so good :
- Yippee! I have a pile of mulch on my property. I do not have to load bags into the boot of my car and pay money.
- Humph. It takes me 15 minutes to collect and dump one load. I am soooooo slow!
Slow shouldn't be a problem, but there's definitely the potential for the garden gloom to slither in.

September Daffodil
Late lunchtime...
I redirected myself after six loads, planted the wine coloured Astelias near the septic tank, watered everything, then moved along to the stone steps by the laundry door. The mint (I didn't plant it. It was here when I arrived) is running around madly. There's little point in trying to dig it out. Something stronger will be required.
Two hours later...
This year I want to have a 'proper' vegetable garden patch - for potatoes, beans, carrots, and so on. So I left the mint and made a start clearing and weeding the garden by the woodshed. I will replant some things and throw out everything else. About one quarter is done.
Saturday 6th September
There've been a few rain showers - great for my newly spread mulch - followed by gorgeous springlike sunshine. And no wind! Continued digging my veggie patch. Didn't care if I got muddy.

Shy Hellebores
Stopped after three hours because my hands and fingers were getting a bit achy. Am replanting the saved Daylilies, perennial Cornflowers, Aquilegias, and Lychnis close by, in the Herb Spiral Garden. My veggie garden is so close to being finished. Yippee!
