Lazybones Gardening...
Doing lazybones gardening is better than doing none? Going slowly, finishing early, with the flimsiest of excuses - a slightly sore elbow, a slightly sore shoulder (the one connected to the sore elbow, funny that). Coping with the daily mysteries of the mature gardening body...

2025 Veggie Garden
I've had Non-Gardening Partner hard at work shoveling my garden mix onto the veggie garden, while I've been sitting down in the wee triangle of land by the washing line, pulling the tiniest weeds out of the garden. And out of the lawn, oh so carefully, one by one. The lawn? Why on earth? Became super fixated on the miniscule, told myself I was giving my eyes (at least) a good workout. I was supposed to be doing a big clean up quickly and efficiently, clearing along the fence-line, digging holes, and planting Lavenders. Aromatics underneath the washing line (back in action after a winter hiatus).

New Tulips in a Pot
Humphed a lot, and came inside after two hours because the wind was too noisy and my elbow was becoming a bit too talkative. Poor me! Showered, sat in a chair with another sudoku, this one graded 'easy' - surely I could finish it in one sitting. Didn't - fell asleep.
Personal reflection : when one is - ahem - more mature in age, one just needs to live with a few sore bits, and adapt. Not give up. It's like being an elite sportsperson (oh really?) - it's all in the top two inches. And wind in trees can be noisy. These are beautiful sounds, showing that nature is alive and well.
Right at the end of the day...
How silly I am. Have just been out to take photographs and get the washing off the washing line. Today's wee garden will be perfect when the Lavenders are planted and the lawn is mowed. I'll leave the big clumps of Alkanet and dig a clear border edge (i.e. pull out more of the self-seeded plants).
