Nearly time...

 Sorry about this...
Brown and Cream Camellia!

Yeay! It's nearly my birthday, which makes me happy. And so do lots of other things. Like the Camellias this year - they are absolutely beautiful. Well, most of them, most of the time. And I am really happy with my cats, and my gardening efforts. And you, dogs, though you are sometimes less peaceful...

Happy with my cats...

Early this morning I was really happy. Why? Woke up with two cats snuggled up on my bed. TWO!! Not only Minimus, but Speckles, my supposedly wild, hissy, stray cat. Silly cat! I sat with him for breakfast, and we had some quality together-time. He gurgled (his idea of purring) and smooched me. Then he took a swipe at my scary legs, which got too close to him. But a major breakthrough - no claws!

Now the day is drawing to a end, and I am very happy with my garden, because I've actually done something sensible (digging a veggie garden). It's my birthday in two days time, and I've asked for a trailer load of garden mix to help the vegetables.

Sunday September 7th

Sang Mozart this morning, then went visiting, back in time for an hour and a half's gardening before it got too cold. I replanted the daylily clumps, lots of the Lychnis, and then finished weeding and clearing the vegetable bed. Yeay! It's ready for the potatoes.

Came inside, warmed up, and went adventuring on the MacKenzie River in NW Territories, Canada, with one of my favourite Youtubers. All mature lady gardeners should have at least one of these! Such journeys amaze me, but they inspire me to stay at home with my animals and enjoy my own personal outdoor wilderness.

Tent or cottage?

Sleeping in a wind-flapped tent in grizzly bear country? Or sleeping in my cosy garden cottage with my cat - or cats, if Speckles turns up? Hmm...
