All day?

Monday is one of my 'I can garden all day' days. But this depends very much on the morning temperature. And this morning it's been too cold for me, so it's afternoon-only gardening, sorry about that.
Must remember...
Am going to continue weeding and trimming in the Hump Garden. Must remember to cut down the Miscanthus zebrinus grasses. As an experiment, I deliberately left one unpruned last winter. Not a good idea - it flopped and sprawled throughout the following seasons and looked very untidy.
Three hours later...
Happily did most of what I'd planned to do. The bonfire was fairly sulky, though, with lots of rose prunings thereon. Spread more bags of pony manure around, weeded, cut down dead dahlia stalks. And then just like that the sun sank lower, and the temperature plummeted. Brr...
Tuesday 18th August
Finished trimming one of those big Miscanthuses, but because of the wind left all the mess tucked away in the garden. But at least I did something! How often have I said it? Something is always better than nothing. Even half an hour gardening in the roaring wind.

Noticed that this entrance to the Hump Garden looked much improved (I'd scraped the path clear of weeds yesterday). Another truism : clear a path and the gardens either side look instantly better.
