The funniest feeling...

First Yellow Daffodil
Have the funniest feeling : gardening tasks are not keeping pace with the gardening hours in a day. If August had, for example, forty days, I could easily achieve everything I need to, before spring and September strike. Or I could just work harder and longer, get out in the gardening earlier, come in much later, yes?
But I have to have some days off. No gardening today, for example - it's a music day. Have spent the morning sorting out some choir arrangements, and now I am off to an afternoon Blues Band rehearsal.
Point of integrity - lots of AI generated fake blues 'artists' are uploading old, apparently forgotten AI generated blues songs on Youtube. Not sure that my Blues Band should be playing covers of them. Would prefer not to myself. AI sifting through data is one thing. But creating 'sound-alike' songs? No thank you.
When I get home it will be too late to go outside. And certainly too cold - for me, that is. I will rug up warm and watch another Poirot on Youtube.

Today I continued working up the side of the Island Bed cleaning out mess. Trimmed down the salmon Alstroemeria (which I like, since it's not horribly invasive for me). Raked out lots of gum leaves, tried to remove all the weedy grasses. Dug out lots of tiny Lamium plants, thwarting their plans to start a new ground-covering colony. Dear little things! And I pruned the Flower Carpet roses.
Then I lit the bonfire and raked out four more barrow loads from underneath the hedge to add to the Island Bed mess. Sat in the damp grass to watch the smoke and flames. Of course I could have stayed out there longer and done even more work. But I didn't. So there!
Tuesday 11th August
Oops. Another gardening-less day, spent musicking, swimming, and driving across the city to visit my lovely family. My smallest friend has some new backyard hens, which are providing much enjoyment (and eggs). Back home, walking around my garden, noticed the red rhododendron Cornubia and the tall Camellia Cinnamon Cindy flowering in the Driveway Garden. Yeay for flower colour! Just beautiful.
Promised my garden that I would try and spend more time in it, and stop moaning about it being too cold.

Even working for an extra hour per day would do the trick.
