Different weeds...

Ajuga - AKA Bugle
Wow - two gardening weeding sessions, each of two hours, one in Daughter's Garden, one in my own. Thought for the day : different gardens have quite different weeds. Interesting? Pretty obvious, I would have thought...
October weeds...
Finally lots of October Weeds (my name for them) in my garden are flowering in the correct month of the year, hee hee. I've been looking for them (they are good at hiding in the greenery) and pulling them gently out. Four hours of weeding and my fingers and hands have had enough for one day. Do I feel like raking up the dry ferns and carting the mess to the bonfire? Nope. But will I? Should do. Might.
One hour later. Did. Am sooooo tired. Happy, though, and that's all that matters.
Saturday 3rd October
What do I feel like doing today? Maybe I should write a wee list. Nothing too scary, though. And not too long, either.
- Prick out cornflower seedlings.
- Finish pruning hydrangeas in the Apple Tree Border.
- Bring mess to the bonfire and burn it.

Crab-Apple Blossom
Three hours later...
OK. I should have been able to do three things. Three very specific things, sensible, not too scary. But tidying up the Hydrangeas took ages. Then I took some pieces of new growth for cuttings and sowed some spinach seeds. Left the cornflowers alone.
Saw that the Apple Tree Border (which is delightfully filling up with Acanthus) needed more tidying up. So I cut down seedling plum trees and sprouting Cotoneaster branches, cleaned up a couple of messy Cordylines, then sat down to demolish an overgrown Phormium. This took forever.
Hello to the Banksia rose...
The yellow Banksia rose (on its third iteration, having been cut down twice) by the washing line is almost ready to bloom. You just can't keep a good Banksia lutea rose down. Have to duck underneath it to get through to the lawns by the glass-house. Should provide some sort of arch support. Hmm...
By four o'clock I had totally run out of oomph - so annoying when that happens. Didn't feel like lighting the bonfire. Came inside to munch freshly bake bread and just relax. Felt a bit cross with myself, though. Tomorrow I will do better. Tomorrow I will be amazingly energetic. I might even finish something! Ha ha...
