Gather my thoughts...
Just need to gather my thoughts before I start a new week of October gardening. A variety of topics, but sometimes there's more to life than the garden...

Deep Pink Azalea
Firstly, a couple of random things. Winnie my older Collie is not doing too well. Her mobility continues to decline very noticeably. Dear dog. Not sure how much future she has.
Boho gardener...
On the fashion front (or edge) I have just bought the silliest, most wonderful pair of new apres-gardening jeans. They have fat pale denim legs covered in applique objects (including a parrot), and are claimed to be 'Boho' style. Will test them out much later this afternoon. May not take a photograph...
Regards the garden (which has some amazing new things flowering), I have a list of things I hope to get done today :
- Check my little watering hoses - hopefully they will go.
- Then select areas of garden to be watered.
- Spread horse manure. Do not leave in the car.
- Collect piles of mess created over the weekend, take to bonfire.
- Check seedlings in glass-house and water them.
Right. I'm off outside. I will also bucket some water onto the shrubs in the Pond Paddock gardens.

Watering the Garden
Later...
After two hours clearing in the Pond Paddock, I sat down on the decking with a cup of tea and read for half an hour. Didn't feel like doing any more work. Thought it would be nice just to lie down on the grass in the sun and snooze. Not good enough. I don't like myself so much when I go all moochy like this./p>
Struggled to work for another hour and a half, but did my best. Did more watering, pricked out some seedlings, collected two more barrowfuls of mess from the Pond Paddock, and lit the bonfire. Then and only then I was allowed to lie down in the grass - to watch the flames and smoke. I love doing that. Felt better after all.
By the way, my new apres-gardening jeans are a hoot. They fit perfectly, Non-Gardening Partner actually noticed them, and he didn't laugh at me. Phew!
